bumpity bump

Have been very slack at taking Bump pics. Above is from the other night - but hasn't come out too well with the black (click on the pic takes to a couple more). As requested by Jase I've gone barefoot in the kitchen - and those tiles were cold!

Here's one from Jan (i think) that is a bit more bumpy perhaps.

So the clock is ticking, the due date looms. The nesting instinct seems to have finally kicked in. Well, the instinct to buy things that will be needed for him, not so much any desire to clean. However, the bathroom busyness has meant a focus on baths and toilets rather than breastpads and onesies. Plenty of time though (she says...).

He is kicking and fidgetting around a bit, which is lots of fun, probably the best bit. So alien-like seeing your body move. We have our last major ultrasound next Tuesday to check on growth, so might get an estimate of his size, for what that is worth. Always fun to sneak a peak though!

We have just finished up our prental course, run through the BCT here, although I also have an associated infant CPR class tonight. The course was good, learnt a few things, but mostly enjoyed just socialising with other English speaking persons in a similar 'predicament'. Quite an international lot though - Americans, Norweigans, South Africans, Scot, German, Luxemburgian, even a Belgian! Jamie got into the sling wearing at the last class, and also got to be demonstrator for bathing baby (he couldn't bear to remove the sling and doll first. Think he is training for twins!).

As would be apparent from the blogs, the Belgians do love their beer. One of the instructors mentioned how when she gave birth ( a while ago now though), the hospital lunches included a bottle of Piedboeuf* brune beer. There was even a bottle opener hanging from the bedside cabinet for all those new mums to utilise! Love it.

*Pied Beouf is admittedly a pissweak not so tasty beer...
