Pre-Xmas

The pic above is a happy snap taken at Jamie's annual work xmas do on Sat 18th. Its a pretty big affair with the gym all fancied up to cater for the 1000+ (?) swifties and partners attending. We hit our saturation point for small talk before midnight, so made for a discreet exit.

We went along to the finals for Jamie's netball comp on the Monday night. Unfortunately his team didn't make it into the top 2, but had lots of fun on the journey. There was an awards night and dinner on the Tuesday night. Jamie came 2nd on votes for best newcomer, which was great. He had some stiff competition with a girl who showed extreme dedication driving from Antwerp each week (about an hour?). Nice group of people involved (largely female) - English speakers from a variety of backgrounds, but mostly UK origins. We'll be joining one of Jamie's teammates, and a few of her visiting English friends, for New Years Eve dinner and pubbing.

Jamie also wound up as one of the team captains for next season. Whether that makes him more or less inclined to argue with the umpires remains to be seen.
