Visit to the Vernons & Joe's 35th - Broome

Many readers will be familiar with our great mates Joe and Maggie Vernon who have been living up in Broome for many years. Since I hadn't seen my godson Daniel for a couple of years and Maggie was majorly pregnant with Shane's godchild, and unable to travel for the wedding, we decided to try squeeze a quick side-trip to Broome into our whirlwind return to Perth in January.

We happened to have a couple of days free between the Buck's Party and Jock and Ali's Wedding. As luck would have it, this also coincided with Joe's 35th Birthday party on Jan 3rd.

As always, the Vernon's put on a kicking party that went until long after dawn (it would probably have gone longer, but Joe had a 7am curfew -- due to the fact that Maggie may need to be rushed to the hospital at any time to give birth!) Their awesome new pool was a perfect way to cool off periodically between bouts of hard partying and dancing.

Beyond the party, though I really enjoyed re-acquainting myself with Daniel, who is really growing into a wonderful little man, although we were all a little disappointed that we missed our opportunity to meet the newest Vernon (Sara) who nonetheless threatened on more than one occasion to pop out and join the party.
