Heath comes to stay...

Following on from her extensive travels in the United States of America and Meh-heeko, and brief stay in London, Ms Farquhar came to visit the EU and Osborne headquarters here in Belgium for a couple of weeks (?).
She rivalled Uncle Shane with her animal bonding - we may need to have a 'Pet Off' when they are both in town. She chanced the La Hulpe Broderie and Brocante (trash & treasure) which featured the obligatory giants parading down the street, and also some fellas from 2yo to 60yo in puffy pants carrying baskets of oranges. I do think Australian swapmeets lack something in this regard.
While poor hubby worked, Heath and I did a few daytrips. We checked out Rochefort and did a tour of the underground caves. The tourguide was obviously very into his job as he'd set up some "amazing" (his words) music to accompany the "amazing" (his words again) light show. It culminated with him lighting a weather balloon which floated to the ceiling. Needless to say, Heather and I were amazed.
Having had dinner one night in the funky student town of Leuven we returned the next day for a shopping expedition. Lacking the European rake physique I decided on a support role. As luck would have it, no purchasing joy was to be had in Leuven.
We also made a trip out to Brugge (where the shopping fairy did prevail). Very pretty town, which I hadn't made it to yet. Heather tried to befriend a horse who wasn't greatly impressed. Every second shop is a chocolate shop - temptation central. As Jamie and I are finding way too frequently here, lunch is problematic. Most places only serve between 12-2 and it seems to be rare that we have it together to go lunch hunting till around say 2:05. Fortunately the Brugges ice cream shop was serving outside of lunch hours so Heath was able to lunch on that.
Was a bit strange when Heather was forced to return to London to job and house hunt, a deafening silence as no bad jokes resounded off the walls. Fortunately London isn't too far away, so hopefully there wont be too long to wait till she graces our presence again.
