Neither Jamie or I had visited Paris EVER, despite living within an hour and a half by train for a year, so it was fortunate that Alie and Adam (friends from Canberra) were staying there for a week, to finally give us the motivation to make the trip.

With work commitments, housemove and Heather & Shane visiting, it was going to be a whirlwind catch-up or none, so went for an overnighter. The train journey was excellent; all within the Schengen zone, so no nuisance passport and security checks. We met up with Alie, Adam and lil Ava at a cafe near us. Was great to see them, and particularly to meet their newest arrival (November birth) - a real little darling. Alie had packed the breastpump so she could join us for a drink or two!

Given we were only going to be there for a night, we didn't want to TRY and see this, that and the other, and end up being frazzled and disappointed. So we just took it easy, wandered around with A,A & A and saved the real touristing for next time. We did head up to Sacre Cœer before we left, which was lovely, particularly as we chanced a choir of nuns singing (amazing acoustics!).
