My youngest brother, inspired by his jetset sisters, organised for himself what could only be described as a kickarse first overseas trip. He travelled with 2 lovely lads, Jon and Russ, but met a few other mates at various stops along the way. The boys flew into Glasgow, checked out Edinburgh, headed to Amsterdam, before training it to Belgium. They delighted in a few hours sleep in real beds, before heading off to the Rock Werchter Festival for the weekend. Belgium turned on the top weather for them; only sunshine. As expected they made acquaintance with many locals & travellers at the festival. Even gave some Belgians their first (attempted) grope at an Aussie Rules footy.

The next afternoon they checked out Leuven, then Jamie and I met them for dinner. Early night - they were understandably pretty zonked. Jamie had the next day off work, and as luck would have, we were informed by Mrs King that the Tour de France would be coming our way that day. Was a bit of a drive, and not much shade on arrival, but we did get to witness a little piece of the TDF 'live'.

The boys' original plan for their last day and a half was to head to Leuven again in the evening to check out some bars, and then to head into Brussels for an early lunch the next day before flying out to Berlin. Instead I picked them up from a nearby station at 6am (Joey: why get a taxi at 2, when there's a perfectly good train at 6). They then slept until airport departure. So Brussels will have to wait for next time. Their next stop was Berlin for some World Cup atmosphere, then Rome, Mykonos, London, Paris, Barcelona, London, Dubai, Perth
