Homecoming & shrimps

As much as I loved going to Oz and seeing family and friends (and sunshine and sea!) it was a relief and a pleasure to get back home to a warm welcome from Jamie, Lucy, Max, Olly, Olga the cleaner shrimp, and the numerous fish (perhaps not so warm a welcome from the shrimp and fish). Its definitely do-able to spend that much time apart. But for me (and Jamie) its not at all desirable. Hopefully not again.

In a union mood, we popped into the Aquarium shop that weekend and bought Olga a companion shrimp, Vladimir. They really are the coolest little critters. They have these fan type claws (4?) which they hold in front and collect stuff and then pop it in their mouths. They also wander around and pick up the little rocks at the base and feed them in mouth 1, and pop them out mouth 2. I'm surprised by how fascinating they can be to watch. As you can't tell their gender it may well be Olga and Vladimia, or Vladimir and Olgon, but we are hoping that one will be an Olga and one a Vladimir so we can have lots of little shrimpies!
