Who is this guy?

Anyone back home know who this guy is? (Note: Clicking on that link should open largish video [2.9Mb] in Windoze Media player - Needs sound)

Thanks to Gregor for sending the link, and to Bryan for putting it on the Web. Would be very funny if it wasn't so bloody scary (trust me, I lived there for nearly 5 years!)

P.S. If you have problems with that link, try just cutting and pasting the following line into Internet Explorer's address bar:

https://www.cs.tcd.ie/Bryan.Patten/clip/USA and Middle East.wmv

OK - so this is some guy with an Australian accent doing a skit for an Australian show, with a URL that indicates he is (or recently was) a computer science student at Trinity College Dublin, and I can't be bothered trying to work out any more about him. Do you know any more about this?

the clip is from cnnnn (Chaser Non-stop News Network) www. cnnnn.com

As Gregor (Jamie's, and my, old housemate) is in Ireland, I should think the URL is for someone Gregor knows, or who knows someone Gregor knows, (etc)who has posted it on his page.

Yes, sorry, didn't mean to be so cryptic there Jim. It wasn't meant to be a trick question - Jeannie is correct - the link was sent to me by my old Irish (well German really) housemate, Gregor, after he had it sent to him by the (Irish) brother (Conor) of the (Irish) Trinity College CS (current) student Bryan Patten. Where Bryan got it from is a a mystery to me, hence my question. Having been out of Aus for so long, I had no idea what CNNN was, so was merely looking for some guidance regarding where I might find some more of that kind of thing. I just thought it was bloody funny, and good to see that healthy, political pisstakes are still alive and well on Aussie TV. Thanks to Jeannie for the cnnnn.com link (and thanks to Jim for reading :-)

Ah yes - that makes sense now. I should have picked it as Chaser stuff, based on the rolling news bar at the bottom. 'Birdwatcher accused of storking'
'Commuter celebrates 10 years of avoiding eye-contact'
'Pretentious git takes up yachting'
