Au Revoir Nanna Pam
After 8 weeks in residence at Chez Osborne, we farewelled Mum as she returned back home to Perth via Paris. We were both truly sad and more than a little apprehensive to see her go, so it was fortunate we didn't have too long for goodbyes - Jamie, Jasper and I had just enough time to leap off the train after unceremoniously throwing her and her baggage on. (Not that an unplanned trip to Paris would have been THAT bad, but we hadn't brought enough spare nappies.)
The place doesn't seem quite the same without her... scaring the Belgian postman answering the door in her fluoro pink "I'm Hip" hippo PJs, singing nonsense songs to Jasper, facilitating a nightly 6 Feet Under fix, liberating me to shower and eat during the day, giving tips on baby management and providing reassurance and hugs when sleep-deprivation and various early days trials were too much. I miss my mum.
Fortunately, we should be back in Oz later this year. And at any rate, mum was so taken with Brugge she plans to return same time next year for another dose with John (and of course some q time here!).
Thanks for coming mum. We love you, oh yes we do. xoxox

Brought a tear to my eye when I read about your Mum coming home! I know how much you will all miss each other. Look forward to your visit towards the end of the year and meeting young Jasper in person! He is certainly growing! Will you be here the same time as Chrissie, Richard and Nicolas? Am missing the updates on Jasper and hope you will soon find time to add some new photos! Hope you are all well and happy. Give Jasper a big hug from me! Anne
